The due date for my Springtime paper doll swap has come.. I've received almost half of the participants, it is alot of dolls for us each to make, but getting one of everyone's is sooo worth the effort... Some people have needed a couple more days, no problem, just email me and let me know... Sorry for the no post, I have been having panic attacks about going on the computer, I don't know why, but I have been so busy organizing my studio, and my overflowing dining room, I can happily say it is cleared of the mess, my studio desk is empty, completly, it is very freeing to get it done. I am now gonna start putting my knick-knacks back and doing the fun stuff. When I do start cleaning I get obsessive and can't stop, and I ALWAYS end up hurting my self and then being down for a week. I've had dr.s appointments with my son almost everyday this week, more about that later, and had a fun girls day out with Sabrina, Chris, and Laurie, I'll post about it soon, I will make myself get on the computer daily, I will try.... Just a few pictures of paper dolls I have made, the bunny one has an actual doll dress on it. Then the picture of the doo=dads, like glove, hat, dress etc. Was for a swap I was in several weeks ago, this is what I made to turn in, I will have to take pictures of what I received, it was fun....
Today is a good day.... Here are a few pictures of a gift I got from my dear friend Sabrina weeks ago, doesn't it look so pretty and colorful. The yellow canvas is of a bird she painted and the size is 2"x2" so small and perfect, then she made a cute fabric flower, included some awesome buttons, pom pom fringe and a spring egg. I'm so lucky... During spring break I went to the Japanese book store in Costa Mesa and here are a few photos of what I purchased. I LOVE their craft books, they have so much inspirational things in there.. I bought this stamp carving sets and a book, I love the pre-printed images on the erasers all ready for carving. Ohh and look at a page from the beaded book, little girl looks so cute...
The prices were sooo cheap it seemed like 10 - 14 dollars per book, seems like the store in L.A. is more exspensive, or maybe it's me... Also took this photo of a drawing of myself from my journal...
A picture of a necklace I have laid out to put together, it has an image from a paris postcard,(which I have FINALLY convinced my dear husband Terry to take me to Paris France, but I have NO idea how to go about making plans, and what hotels and such, if any one has any recommendations please email me... )
A picture of my journal, one of my cluttered treasure station. and jewelry boxes full of treasures... I think I'm waking up my hubby, gotta go
Okay now a tale of my new friend I met that lives in Germany... His name is Thomas and he is a very generous soul, and he does some digging that sounds like such a wonderful adventure...
He lives in Germany and has been going on digging expeditions for 5 years now, every month for 10 days he does digging in Thuringia by an old doll factory, he digs for old china pieces that the dollmakers have put into the ground for 100 Years. Frozen charolletes, china heads, bisque dolls, he finds all sorts of things, and lucky for me he speaks good english. After reading the book Semiprecious Salvage by Stephanie Lee , this is when I met Thomas. I almost didn't buy this book, but I did and when I got it home I literally could not put it down, it has some really good jewelry projects in it that I have not seen anywhere else, but at the beginning of each chapter there is a story written. It is a journal of sorts by a girl on a digging expedition back in the days, if you have not got this book, IT IS A MUST... Stephanie Lee's inspiration is worth it alone, but the story is mesmertizing.... So when Thomas told me of his tales it was very exciting. I talked him into letting me buy some of his treasures, I told him he did NOT have to clean them for me, that I would. So here are a few pictures of what I received in the mail... I did get over 100 of them, and I can't wait to start using them for making jewelry... I think I will make some kits to put on etsy too, soon... I feel like a little child playing with them. I am so lucky...
Hi, sorry I have not posted in such a long period... This is actually the first time I have been on the computer in weeks. My mother is doing better and out of the hospital, thanks for all your prayers. The boys were out for spring break so we had some fun... Have I done any art work? No, I have been organizing my studio, I did hurt my back so that put me down for a while. This is actually the first day I have been home ALONE in like three weeks, and boy does it feel good, so I'm playing catch up and will start posting daily again, I promise... Hope all my the people in my paperdoll swap are working on there dolls. I will email the participants tomarrow to catch up...
Finally found a new issue of Marie Claire Idee's it is luscious with lots of pictures (if only I could read french) Isn't my dog Coca so cute?,.... I think so...
I just finished emailing everyone who signed up for my Spring Paper doll swap. If you signed up and did NOT hear back from me, please email me asap. Stacy Creativemuse, email me, I can NOT find your email address. It was very windy today and it just started to rain really hard now, but it is gone as quick as it came. I'm enjoying my weekend, but am tired and need to just relax and catch up on stuff, hopefully soon I will be able to, sharing just a few photos of treasures and jewelry I have made. My mom has been in the hospital since monday with COPD, it is a lung disease, she is having alot of trouble breathing, so any prayers for her will surely be welcome, her name is Toni.
Okay after the final due date to sign up for the paper doll swap will be Friday afternoon, so if you are thinking about it email me. mooretreasures@ca.rr.com After that I will email all of you sho requisted to sign up and give out the details. Okay? How fun... Mary Smiley from Sweet Peas and Snapshots (an awesome store) has talked me into doing a paper doll class, so any of you in my swap that would love to come, please do. Let me tell you, I AS A TEACHER SHARE ALL MY AWESOME SUPPLIES WITH MY STUDENTS.. Ask anyone, so just to get the images and stuff alone is worth it for the class... And of course my favorate part of classes is connecting with the other artists. Learning something you would of never even thought of.... After Friday I will email all the swap participants with the details....
They opened a brand new Dollar Tree store right by me, and oh how I love new stores, they stock with all new stuff and it rocks totally. Look at the pictures of the stuff I got, all in my favorate color palette, "Spring colors" so everything I purchased just looks soooo great together doesn't it? Wonderful pastel birds, tulle roll, yellow clear buttons, big dragonfly wings, six wooden tags, a pack o foam pads, cute bracelets, colorful candies as presents to include as gifts for swap participants... Okay and now I need to say a little something about people who host swaps, do any of you gals, Know HOW HARD AND HOW MUCH WORK it is to host a swap? Well because I host swaps I know.... So I always include a present to the hostess to say thank you, and I also think it helps when she is dividing the swaps out. How many of you have signed up for a fun swap from a cool blog online that sounded sooo fun and you got partnered up with someone who couldn't be farther away from who you are. I think that sucks, so I think if I am to going to hold another swap that will be one of one, I would rather hqve everyonE MAIL THEir creationw to me, so I could swap them out with "like" ones. You know what I mean right.. Some people are just different and you dont know that until you see what they create, right? Who agrees with me? Let me know by leaving me a comment... With that said I am seriously thinking of hosting two other kick ass cool swaps, that ALL BE

submitted to me, so i COULD trade them out to like participqnts and I REALLY think it would be better for everyone, so we can all be matched with people that are like us. Me as a swapper, I am a sharer, no matter what I Do, I make the requirements and ALWAYS GIVE EXTRA, so if I get paired with someone who perhaps is newer to this medium then me, then I am disappointed, and in further swaps it could hinder me from doing my best work. OkaY These are my deep contained thoughts on swaps, I love swaps, but hate it when partners are NOT paired correctly, so you agree??? Or what..?? Let me know... The last few photos I loaded are of jewelry treasure I've acquired this week, my favorates are the ones with vintage photos that I got for a steal... Okay anyone who has any opinions on this please voice them to me. CREATIVELY YOURS, TAMMIE
Okay so Saturday was so much fun, just what I needed a day of play away from the house. a class with Lilia Meridith from flea market studios at the amazing
Sweet Pea's and Snapshots store, Mary does such a fabulous display of things and to die for stuff to buy... I brought my new friend Chris with me, and there were old friends and new friends there.... I have posted a ton of pictures today (ohh and someone commented that my pictures were too small, if you click on them they get bigger, so you can see the details) Any who, this is the journal I made in her class, I got obsessed with it and couldn't stop working in it.. On the front of it, there is a girl with a bird on her head and it says "On the invitiation to the party it said BYOB, she thought that it meant "bring your own bird" such a silly child". Isn't that cute, a little help from Mary... I photoed all the pages, I hope you enjoy looking at them... The class had perfect cupcakes and champagne, and look at the goodies I bought... I also got these shoes (from a different store called happy six..
Mary even talked me into scheduling a couple classes there soon...
